RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP SOLAR
PM Surya Ghar: subsidy and eligibility.
Understand the estimate before choosing your system.
Central assistance is separate from your purchase price.
Under the published MNRE residential guidelines, central assistance is ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 per kW for the next 1 kW, with no additional central assistance beyond 3 kW. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir use the special-category rates of ₹33,000 and ₹19,800 respectively. This calculator covers those central rates; it does not include any additional state assistance.
Estimated central assistance: ₹78,000
Planning estimate only, using published central rates. Final eligibility and sanctioned amount are determined through the applicable portal, DISCOM and scheme process. Check current rules before purchase.
DCR is necessary, but not the whole eligibility test.
The installation must meet residential consumer, grid-connection, technical and domestic-content requirements. Apply through the PM Surya Ghar portal and follow the approved vendor, metering, inspection and disbursement process for your connection. Previous subsidy claims can affect additional entitlement. Commercial and off-grid installations do not qualify under this residential component.
Use panel capacity, not the inverter or battery rating.
The estimate is based on eligible installed solar-module DC capacity. Battery storage does not increase central assistance. Hybrid or behind-the-meter systems need the relevant regulatory and DISCOM approvals; a DCR product label does not guarantee approval.
Understanding catalogue illustrations
Some Belmicro product pages use a fixed, conservative subsidy illustration provided with the catalogue. It is not a calculation of your statutory entitlement. Fractional capacities and special-category locations can produce a different amount. The full installed or package price remains payable; approved subsidy is received separately under the scheme.
Before you proceed
- Confirm your residential electricity connection, exact location and previous subsidy history.
- Confirm DCR documentation, panel quantity and actual array capacity.
- Check the current portal and local DISCOM process, and obtain an itemised quotation.
- Keep installation, inspection and subsidy documents with your warranty records.
